Magnetsensor MSA111C
Absolute sensor for high-tech applications in direct drive technology
Quadratic, practical, “absolute”
The MSA111C was specially developed for the high requirements of direct drive technology.
Rotative drives, which are ultimately linearized, are increasingly being replaced by direct drives. Their considerably greater dynamics, precision and speed require high control efficiency.
The new sensor type MSA111C from the product line MagLine is an extension of the well known product portfolio of absolute sensors. The changes are obvious: While the previous version MSA111 has a separate translation module AEA111/1, this sensor combines both units in a single housing. The familiar flexible two-lane magnetic tape MBA111 serves as a measuring scale. Both absolute and incremental lanes are used to calculate the position value. The position value is read out via an SSI or RS485 interface. Parallel to this, the sensor has an analog real-time channel 1Vss, which is mainly found in high-performance, highly dynamic processes. The sensor has an RS485 interface, which makes it bus-capable and enables up to 31 devices to be connected together via a single cable strand.
Resolution of 1µm in the absolute channel and high control dynamics via real-time channel 1Vss combined with immunity to dirt and vibration offer clear advantages over glass reading heads, which are much more expensive and sensitive to dirt.
